Our location is perfect for fishermen. As a guest of our lodge, you are encouraged to take advantage of our river front property. The water behind our lodge is beautiful steelhead, brown trout and king salmon water, it experiences relatively small crowds compared to other places on the river. We are only a short drive to tributary creeks.
Salmon River fishing is legendary and for good reason! Regardless of when you come to fish, there is always a real possibility of hooking into trophy fish! Flies, beads, float fishing, centerpin, spining rod — it all works. We also have guides that specialize in Spey fishing, which is becoming a very popular way to fish this river, for the avid fly fishermen.
Our guides specialize in fishing the Salmon River and Lake Ontario tributaries for salmon, brown trout and steelhead. Guides will supply fly fishing equipment, spinning rods or centerpin fishing gear, flies and bait. All of our guides fish out of driftboats if the water level is high enough. Driftboats are equipped with heaters for winter fishing. In general, our salmon trips run from September through October and trout/steelhead trips run from mid October through April.
Always bring enough layers of clothing — a rain coat, sun block, sun glasses, waders, and fishing cleats (Korkers). Don’t forget drinks and lunch.
